I am reaching out today to share with you my thoughts about Coronavirus and how we can manage our energy during this uncertain time.

In the first few moments of hearing the seriousness of the Coronavirus, I felt myself becoming anxious and my breathing became labored. I sat down and began my breathing exercises to release anxiety. After a few moments, I felt a calm and a sense of peace come over me that I hadn’t felt in a long time and I knew in my spirit that everything was going to be ok.

This can be scary and overwhelming so I immersed myself in prayer and meditation. I stopped watching the news and stopped reading everything on Facebook. I created affirmations regarding fear and anxiety and I am writing in my gratitude journal everything I am grateful for, even down to smallest things such as toothpaste. I encourage you to do the same.

Expressing appreciation and practicing gratitude can reduce depression, increase energy and happiness, lower blood pressure, and even prolong your life. Gratitude also increases dopamine and serotonin which are our feel-good neurotransmitters and helps deflect negative thoughts.

As each day passes, I am sensing that this is a time for us to embrace and lean into the uncertainty and take advantage of the Universe slowing down.

Read those books that are on your shelf, clean and organize your kitchen cabinets that you’ve been talking about for awhile, go through your closet and get rid of all those unwanted items, take a daily walk by yourself or with your family, go through those old family photos and decide how you want to organize and store them. Do whatever you need to do to stay positive and not allow yourself to succumb to fear, anxiety, and depression.

I have created 10 affirmations to help you work through the fear and anxiety.

  • I am freeing myself from all destructive fear and doubt.
  • I appreciate my life.
  • I believe my ability to get through these tough times.
  • I see my struggles as opportunities to learn and grow.
  • I will practice self-care everyday
  • Fear and anxiety does not control my life.
  • I am rising above the thoughts that try to make me scared or angry.
  • Depression does not control my life.
  • I am safe and all is well.
  • I have made it through hard times before and I will make it through this.
